US Mint Sales: Mercury Dime Set and FIFA Coins Debut

he first sales figures are in for last week’s U.S. Mint releases, which included seven FIFA World Cup 2026 commemorative coin products and the first of five sets from the Best of the Mint series celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary. As expected, all eight products ranked among the week’s top sellers.
Leading the pack was the Best of the Mint 1916 Mercury Dime Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set, shown in CoinNews photos, which opened with sales of 28,933, or 96.4% of its 30,000 limit. Released June 4 for $810, the set was listed as “Currently Unavailable” after nearly five hours, with the Mint adding a “Remind Me” option for alerts if more become available. It pairs a one-tenth-ounce gold coin based on Adolph A. Weinman’s classic Mercury dime with a newly designed companion silver medal.
