Casimir III the Great – the last monarch of the Piast dynasty – has been honoured with a special commemoration. Mennica Polska, which has been preserving the national heritage for years, has marked the 693rd anniversary of this ruler’s coronation by issuing a gold medal. Only 100 copies have been produced, each struck from one ounce of pure gold of the highest fineness.

The gold medal bearing the image of Casimir III the Great was created as a symbol of pride and a tribute to Polish roots. The medal evokes the majesty of the king’s reign and the enduring legacy he left behind. The reverse features a dignified portrait of the monarch wearing a crown and a richly decorated cloak. The obverse, meanwhile, is adorned with a stylised White Eagle, a symbol of sovereignty and the continuity of Polish statehood, set within an ornamental composition inspired by the legacy of the Piast dynasty.
