One Coin To Rule Them All: The Royal Mint Forges The Lord Of The Rings 50p Coin

My precious…coin! The Lord of the Rings fans will soon be able to own one coin to rule them all as The Royal Mint today announces the launch of its first collectable The Lord of the Rings 50p coin.
The coin marks the 25th anniversary of Peter Jackson s Academy Award-winning film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Made in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP), the coin is the first in a seven-strong collection that will celebrate all three Lord of the Rings films across the next three years.
The coin design centres on the One Ring, the driving force behind the entire saga and a symbol of power. Designed by Royal Mint Coin Designer, Thomas T. Docherty, the reverse (tails) side of the 50p also features the iconic Elvish lettering and Black Speech inscribed on the Ring, representing the unforgettable verse "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them." The obverse (heads) side of the 50p features the official coin portrait of His Majesty The King.
