Hungarian Mint issues two 2026 gold coins

The Hungarian Mint in 2026 will be issuing two new gold coins based on their medieval predecessors struck during the reign of King Matthias I.

A base metal version in a copper-nickel-zinc alloy is also scheduled.

Matthias Corvinus was king of Hungary and Croatia from 1458 to 1490, as Matthias I. He is often given the epithet “the Just.”
