A silver coin that reacts to light and changes color has just been released to collectors. “Magnolia” from the Mennica Polska is one of the world’s first coin issues to use photochromic pigment – its floral motif reveals an intense pink color only when exposed to sunlight.

„Magnolia” kicks off Mennica Polska’s new coin series titled “Flowers of the Four Seasons” inspired by the changing nature. Symbolizing spring, it draws attention not only for its precision craftsmanship but, above all, for its visual effect, which transforms the way a classic numismatic piece is perceived.
